Floor Bearers
The GRP floor bearers are bonded down to the hull over the length of the bearer itself, this creates a very strong structure. Because the bearers are attached in this way it reduces flexibility in the hull whilst the boat is under sail. Each bearer has a large drain hole cut into it which makes pumping water out easier and quicker. Other benefits of this installation are; no wood to rot away, lighter than wood bearers. Finally The installation is finished with a protective coating of polyester which seals the inside of the boat thus helping prevent water penetrating the hull.
